Porter Medical Center

Porter Hospital, founded in 1925, is a not-for-profit community hospital. We offer comprehensive medical care and 24-hour emergency services to residents, students and staff of Middlebury College and visitors to the area. We also own and operate a 105 bed long-term care facility (blue roof in above picture) which provides nursing home care, short-term rehabilitation and dementia services.
Modern Facilities
Porter Hospital unveiled and dedicated its new
Birthing Center and Surgical Care Center in November 2007.

Our network of
physician practices comprise primary care to specialized health services and are located in the towns of Middlebury, Bristol, Vergennes and Brandon. Several of the offices offer comprehensive services on site - such as lab and radiology services.
Porter is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.
